Saturdays!

Greetings from Tiffany, a.k.a. The wife!
Awww Saturdays!  How I love to just sit and enjoy a good book on the back porch while sipping my coffee-wait, when was the last time I got to do that?  Alas, I must tend to many other things on Saturdays!  Today I harvested 4 strawberrys from our 1st year patch, which is a big triumph for us!  Whoo hoo!  I also got about three quarters of a quart of volunteer cherry tomatoes.  One last cutting of our collards and then they will be done for, which shall signal the end of our valiant attempts at providing for ourselves!  Thank God other people are way better at this than we are and sell the fruits of their efforts to poor hungry folks like us.
On my weekly trip to the Harvest Shak, I acquired a couple of large buttercup squash.  I plan to freeze the pulp, but first I will prolly break down and make Chocolate Chip Pumpkin bread!!!! Another good use of  pumpkin, a.k.a winter squash, is this great face mask:
The Great Pumpkin Patch Face Mask
The Goods:
-1/4 c. pumpkin puree (not pumpkin pie mix!)
-2 Tbsp. plain whole milk yogurt (unflavored)
The Deal:
-Place ingredients into a small bowl.
-Whisk gently until completely combined.
-Slather liberally on face and neck.
-Leave for 15 minutes (I’d suggest using a head band to keep your hair off your face).
-Rinse off with warm water.

Well, thats my Saturday post!  Now its off to peeling apples and making applesauce!
Have a Blessed day!
